Create Your Own Stamped Backgrounds

Hello Everyone and Happy Canada Day!!

Today I thought I'd share one of my favourite things to do which is creating my own stamped backgrounds.  I think that it gives the layout a unique and personalized touch.  I have created these layouts with a few stamped images and 3 or 4 ink pads.  You could even do one image with a single ink pad.  The possibilities are endless!!  I have found that the best way to create a background like these is to start at one end and work your way to the other end.  It does take some time and if you are using multiple stamps and ink pads you have to keep on cleaning your stamps after every time you use a stamp.  I think that it's totally worth it!  You can also do this for card backgrounds as well as pocket page-style scrapbooking (you can see an example of this on my posting (Create Your Own Pocket Filler Cards) that was posted on June 1st, 2014.

Hope you have gotten inspired to create your own stamped backgrounds for your next scrapbook page, pocket page-style card or greeting card.  And remember you don't have to create backgrounds as large as I have.  Just take out those stamps and ink pads and have some fun with them!!!
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY SCRAPPIN'!

  1. Those are gorgeous!! Love the star one especially. I'd like to know what brand of ink is being used? The color is just amazing!

    1. Thanks Ange I used Hero Arts Mid-Tones on the Star layout and the others are all Stampin' Up! Classic ink pads.

  5. I am so amazed by your backgrounds! I wish I could create something like your star background - that is amazing! Nicely done. I'm always afraid to stamp directly on layouts (or multiple images), because I always seem to mess them up or press to hard or smear ink or something!

    1. Thanks Andrea! Good stamps and good ink pads I think help a lot and lots of practice. Just start at one end of a scrap piece of paper and move forward across to the other end and just turn and twist your stamps around to fit ... Like a jigsaw puzzle! :)
